ULine Wine Cooler Review

Champaigne bottles on ice

Are you searching for a wine cooler that will chill your wine collection to the perfect temperature? Many wine coolers are available for your home. The U Line Wine Cooler is praised as one of the best looking investments you can make to keep your wine tasting its best. We've included everything you need to know about it, and whether or not it stands up to the hype in our Uline wine cooler review.

What You Should Look for When Buying a Wine Cooler

Wine coolers were once relegated to bars and restaurants, but now they are widely available in all different styles and with different features. But what features should be at the top of your list when shopping for a wine cooler? When we wrote this U line wine cooler review, we considered the following items.

1. Bottle Count

How many bottles do you have or want in your collection? The general rule is to decide how much space you need and then multiply it time two. The bottle count for wine coolers is based on standard bottles. Keep in mind that champagne and burgundy bottles take up more space.

2. Interior of the Cooler

Look for aluminum on the inside of the cooler. This metal conducts cold and heat better than the plastic used in cheaper models. For enhanced humidity control, you want a textured lining.

3. Door

Glass doors are pretty, but they don't insulate well. Make sure the glass door has a UV protective finish. Exposing wine to sunlight can damage the wine.

4. Shelves

Basic wine fridges have fixed chrome-wire shelving. Higher-end ones, like the ones in our U Line Wine Cooler review, use wood racks or at the very least wire grids with wood frames. Ideally, you want shelves that roll out. This makes it easy to read wine labels and take out the bottle that you want.

5. Vibration

The shaking of the bottles from the vibration of compressors can damage wine over time. Look for wine coolers that mitigate vibrations with compressors mounted on rubber blocks. Other touches such as coated racks grip bottles to keep them still.

What Is the ULine Wine Cooler?

Before we get into the u line wine cooler review itself, we thought you might want to learn more about the company and its products. For the past 50 years, U Line has supplied the market with award-winning appliances. The brand is synonymous with elegant design. The company specializes in refrigerators and coolers.

You're probably reading the u line wine cooler review because you are a wine collector or want to be a wine collector. Keeping your wine at the proper temperature and in controlled conditions will preserve the taste and integrity of your wine. U-Line was the first North American appliance maker to develop an at-home wine refrigerator. It is the gold standard in wine coolers, so you don't have to worry about damaging your wine. U Line's wine refrigeration units use convection-cooling technology. Their coolers are single zone or dual zone cooling.

As an added layer of protection for your wine, U Line uses a glass on the wine cooler doors that blocks ultraviolet light. The glass is low-emission, argon gas-filled thermopane that increases overall efficiency. U Line's compressors are rubber mounted, which rids the unit of vibrations. The cooler is also beautiful, with interior lights that softly illuminate your wine collection. On a more practical note, you can easily find the bottle that you are looking for.
